This website was made because of a war that I was a soldier in.
I did not want to join the war, in fact I had no idea there was going to be such a war, or that I would ever have a part in it, but like many soldiers of the past, I was drafted.
I lived my life as a common man, trying not to bother anyone, I worked all my life, tried to keep my bills paid on time, and trying to be a good dad to my daughter. It was during these relatively calm years that the war broke out, and I suddenly found myself plunged into the battlefield.
Was this war, Vietnam or Desert Storm ? No…. It was a war between me and millions of flea soldiers, yes fleas !
I had just moved into this apartment, it was all carpeted, and I thought it was the perfect place for me to live, hopefully the next several years. At first I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. Then the warm summer months came, and I started having an occasional flea hop on me. I would be watching tv, or standing by the kitchen counter, and there would be a flea landing on my arm, or some other place.
I didn’t realize it at first, but these occasional fleas were just the scout troops, searching for the enemy. Soon they launched a full scale invasion of my whole apartment. I was now getting bit by fleas, and I constantly had them hopping and landing on me. I had no pets, so I wondered why there was fleas. Then I remembered that when I had first moved into the apartment, I had found some old cat food in the bottom of the cupboard under the kitchen sink, the tenant before me, had pets, I later found out he had cats.
I went online to try to find a great resource about fleas, a site that would tell me everything I wanted to know about them, how long they live, the different types, the diseases or problems they can cause, how to get rid of them, and more. I found there was a lot of sites, that had bit’s and pieces of flea info, but not one really good total flea website. I decided I would build a flea site, a site that could help others that were plagued with fleas or had questions about them, like I did, and that is how this website came about.
